Roy Doumani
Mr. Doumani, an American living in California, brings over 30 years of banking and Asian Investment experience toBrandAmerica. He has been a founder and/or director for First Los Angeles Bank, First Interstate Bank of Hawaii, HonFed Bank and World Trade Bank. During this period, Mr. Doumani was also partner with former secretary of the US Treasury, the late William E. Simon. He is currently is vice chairman and equity holder in, Xiamen International Bank – the first joint venture bank in China. Mr. Doumani is also actively involved in many Asian and US companies including: a fund for investing in China, a PRC software firm, biotech and wireless communications companies. In addition to his business interests, Mr. Doumani serves as a member of the advisory boards of both RAND’s Center for Middle East Public Policy and its Center for Asia Pacific Policy. He received a bachelor of arts degree in business and finance from the University of California at Los Angeles and a law degree from the University of Southern California.
Ken Aldrich
Mr. Aldrich has over 25 years of experience as a private equity investor
and entrepreneur. He has provided early stage funding and management
expertise for a variety of biomedical and technology start-up companies.
Mr. Aldrich is a Managing Director of Convergent Investors, the General
Partner of a Los Angeles-based biotech and life science technology fund
and is also president and owner of The Aldrich Company, a private venture
capital company.
David Harilela
Mr. Harilela, a resident of Hong Kong, his family is originally from India and has grown to become one of the most prestigious families in Hong Kong. The Harilela family owns the Holiday Inn chain in Hong Kong and his company “DHG” is a leader in product licensing, having acquired licenses for over 1600 product lines for a number of major American brands. David is a graduate from the University of Southern California with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He is director of the Rotary Club and was also appointed as an ambassador for the University of Southern California in 2000.
William J. McCaffrey, Jr.
During his 14 year tenure as chief financial officer for American Restaurant Group (“ARG”), Mr. McCaffrey was in charge of all aspects of finance for the firm’s five restaurant divisions which included US$ 450 million in sales, 250 restaurants in 14 states and 13,000 employees. He spent his last two years with ARG focusing specifically on the Stuart Anderson’s Black Angus division and was responsible for finance as well as real estate, facilities and human resources. Prior to his position at ARG, Mr. McCaffrey was chief financial officer of the W.R. Grace and Co. Restaurant Group. Before joining Grace, he was as a nuclear submarine officer. Mr. McCaffrey has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in business from Harvard University.
Raulee Marcus
Ms. Marcus is an executive with more than 25 years of P&L responsibility in consumer products and service companies. While she has worked in senior operating positions in Fortune 100 companies for most of her career, she has consulting and small company experience as well. Ms. Marcus has served as consultant to the governments of India and the People's Republic of China in developing niche business strategies to enhance their ability to compete in the US . Ms. Marcus is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and holds a masters degree from the American Graduate School .
Norman Monson
While serving as Chief Financial Officer for the publicly traded Ramada
Inn chain, Mr. Monson was responsible for raising capital and the acquisition
for over 30 major hotel and resorts. Later on, through his own consulting
company, he negotiated the syndication, purchase and management for
several large hotels and resorts. He has also taught finance and economics
at Columbia University and the University of California at Berkley.
T.J. Pempel Ph.D.
Dr. Pempel, is currently the director of the Institute of East Asian
Studies at the University of California Berkeley. Prior to joining the
Political Science Department at Berkeley, he was the Boeing Professor
of International Studies in the Jackson School of International Studies
and an adjunct professor in Political Science, at the University of
Washington. Other teaching assignments included Cornell University,
the University of Colorado, and the University of Wisconsin.
Oliver Greeves
Mr. Greeves is a resident of Sydney, Australia. Prior to his recent retirement from Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., Mr. Greeves held the positions of Vice President of International Investments and Regional Executive for the Asia-Pacific region. He has also served
as a director of Commercial Bank of San Francisco and worked for 18
years at Chase Manhattan Bank in several capacities, including Country
Manager in Korea and Managing Director of Chase Asia in Hong Kong. Mr. Greeves holds a bachelor's degree (with honors) from the University of Bristol-UK, a master's degree from McMaster University, Ontario, and a PhD in economics from the University of Bristol
Alfonzo Zamora
Mr. Zamora, a Philippine national living in Manila, began his career in the banking industry, working for over 26 years in commercial banking, investment banking, and consumer finance for Citibank, Bank of the Philippine Islands, and Consumer Savings Bank, Manila. He went on to serve as a senior executive with RFM, a major Philippine conglomerate. In 1998, Mr. Zamora purchased the master franchise for California based National Sports Grill & Bar and currently serves as the firm’s CEO for its restaurant company located in Manila.
Michael Moore
Mr. Moore has spent nearly 35 years working as a full service real estate developer and general contractor specializing in the development of multiple sites for expanding US franchises and businesses across the southwestern United States. As the CEO of a leading southern California development company he has developed industrial office and retail projects throughout California and most of its neighboring states. Mr. Moore has also worked with Mr. Sadak in the development of the very successful California Fitness projects in Asia. Mr. Moore is a graduate of the School of Business Administration at California State University, Fullerton.
Rosendo J. Pont
Mr. Pont, is currently the President of Pont Associates, a consulting firm providing financial analysis, project development and management services to the independent power industry. Mr. Pont has worked closely with Marubeni Corporation in their development and acquisition of infrastructure projects in Asia, Latin America and the US. Mr. Pont’s experience in all aspects of the aspects of the development and operation of power and energy projects has spanned more than 25 years. Mr. Pont holds B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from Stanford University and a M.B.A. from Columbia University.
Nicholas Ashby
Mr. Ashby, an Englishman living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has over 25 years experience in Asian capital markets. Currently, he is CEO of Celadon Capital, a corporate finance advisory firm that specializes in Asian capital markets. Previously, Mr. Ashby has been a senior executive with the Normura Group in London and was attached to research operations at SG Warburg Securities in Tokyo. He holds masters degrees in chemical engineering and natural science from Trinity Hall, Cambridge, England.
